The new automatic chronograph caliber UN-150 is another of Ulysse Nardin’s proud achievements. With a 48-hour power reserve, it displays the hours, minutes, small seconds at 9 o’clock, a date aperture at 4.30 and a chronograph showing the seconds in the center, as well as a minute counter at 3 o’clock and an hour counter at 6 o’clock. Made up of 322 components, the movement required two years of adjustments, fine-tuning and finishing after its rights were acquired from Ebel. Today the UN-150 is made in-house by Ulysse Nardin,which has also endowed it with its own silicon escapement that beats at 28.800 vph.

In my eyes it is the purity of the dial that instantly attracts the attention of the Marine Chronograph Manufacture.Made by the Donzé Cadrans workshops – by the way acquired by the Ulysse Nardin in 2011 – it is a unique homage to the founder’s designs.

• Fixed bezel ring with a slightly tapered coined edge finish.
• Brushed finish crown guard.
• Crown with ridged rubber ring, for a secure grip.
• Rectangle chronograph buttons with rubber inlay.
• Flat black metallic dial with slightly recessed -dials.
• Applied polished steel Arabic Numeral hour markers.
• Raised inner bezel flange with a fine printed seconds & fractions of a second track & small luminous hour markers.
• Polished steel skeleton hands with luminous tips.
• Small seconds sub-dial located at the 6 o’clock position.
• Date window located between the 4 & 5 o’clock positions.

Chronograph/Stopwatch functions:

• Large red tipped polished steel central seconds counter hand.
• 30 minute counter sub-dial located at the 3 o’clock position.
• 12 hour counter sub-dial located at the 3 o’clock position.

• An approximate power reserve of 48 hours.
• The movement features a anchor escapement which is produced using DIAMonSIL, Ulysse Nardin’s revolutionary alliance of diamond and silicon. DIAMonSIL is silicon treated with a thin layer of diamond coating that not only eliminates the need for lubrication, but also significantly increases the part’s durability.
• Rotor features 2 anchors as part of the rotor design & a blue medallion made of DIAMonSIL with the UN logo.
