A unique skeleton movement mounted on a mainplate made of a natural clear quartz mineral which has natural inclusions. The natural mineral is inherently unstable & difficult
to work with, thus conventional machining will not work as when the abrasive agent makes contact with the mineral it will tear away at the inclusions rather than polishing it to a fine finish. The only way to machine this material perfectly is to employ an abrasive suspended in a liquid. The process takes an exceptionally long time (1mm of abrasion per hour), but yields an immaculate surface quality and delivers the desired dimensions with absolute precision (1/100ths of a mm). This watch also gives a nod to the past – the use of the pendulum to measure time can be traced back to Galileo. The profile of its bridges and the architecture of its components recreates Galileo’s drawing of a pendulum to a scale about one hundred times smaller.
