The Round line reaffirms Franck Muller’s mastery of the watchmaking art in its purest tradition. Purity and sober design are the guiding principles of the Round collection. Effortlessly feminine, the beautiful design of the Round articulates Franck Muller’s vision of femininity, seduction and elegance. From classic and simple models to exquisite complications featuring breathtaking engraving on the movement such as the Double Mystery, the Round collection emphasizes classical sobriety with distinguished elegance.
The double mystery watch refers to the lack of hands on the dial of this watch. The ingenious movement allows the two discs to rotate separately. With emerald hour markers and hands, a full pave diamond dial, and a full pave diamond case, the watch is incredibly eye-catching and a sight to behold.
The movement on the show is the Double Mystery — the mystery being that there are no traditional hands at play here, rather two triangles nestled amongst the brilliance of the fully set dial. Of course, it doesn’t take long to work out that these markers sit in two rotating discs, creating an illusion of floating time. It’s one of my favorite romantic complications, and Franck Muller has deployed it here to good effect. It’s a smart complication because while it uses up a fair bit of energy to move two full discs rather than more lightweight hands, it’s a complication thats rarely seen in the world of horology and allows the wearer to appreciate the intricacy of the watch inside and out.
