The 46mm diameter solid three-body case, knurled bidirectional revolving bezel, and lapidated lugs are polished with round chronograph/stopwatch pushbuttons. The Push/pull crown has two gaskets. The bezel is fitted with a circular slide rule underneath the crystal that can compute various airborne calculations such as fuel consumption, climbing times, and the conversion of miles into nautical miles or kilometers. There is an inner minute track, and the dial is silvery white with luminous baton hour index markers and hands. It has a sapphire display case back. The date aperture window is at the 6 o’clock, and there is a red arrowhead central seconds hand. There is a small constant seconds subsidiary dial at the 9 o’clock positions, a 30-minute register sub-dial at 3 o’clock, and a 12-hour dial at 6 o’clock. It’s water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and there is a 70-hour power reserve. 

This Breitling Navitimer Chronograph 01 RB0137 has a COSC certified mechanical automatic self-winding Breitling Manufacture caliber B01 movement. It’s rhodium-plated, and it’s constructed with 47 jewels, and a shock absorber mechanism. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance that’s adjusted to 5 positions. It has a self-compensating flat balance spring, and an index regulator. The mechanism oscillates at 28,800 vph (4 Hz). 

First introduced in 1952, the navigation timer, or the Navitimer, was designed to allow pilots to perform all necessary flight calculations in the sky. Two years later, it was named the official timepiece of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association – the largest pilot’s club in the world. Staying true to the iconic collection, this rare Navitimer B01 Chronograph is enhanced by modern refinements, namely a sleeker profile, and brushed and polished metal elements for a luxe yet somehow understated finish.

A nostalgic nod to the original design, the model features the AOPA wings at the original position of 12 o’clock.
