Here is a Patek Philippe Grande Complication timepiece introduced in 2014. To have this in your hands, or better on your wrist, is what collecting watches is all about: the pursuit of perfection. This is an important and highly collectible Patek Philippe wristwatch. There are only ten known examples of the 5951P with the black dial.
The 5951P is a platinum cushion case wristwatch with monopusher (or monopulsante) split-seconds chronograph and perpetual calendar with moonphases. It is almost inestimably beautiful.
Platinum cushion case is 38mmacross, by 45mm long by 13mm thick. Sapphire front and display back crystal. The button to split the seconds hands is embedded into the winding crown and the chronograph start and reset are controlled by the single button at 2 o’clock.
Dial is a solid pane of 18k gold which is painted black and lacquered, with applied white gold Arabic numerals and sword style hands. All three chronograph hands are white. There are displays for chronograph split-seconds, chronograph 60 minute totalizer, constant seconds, moonphase, month, day, date, leap year and AM/PM.
The unparalleled renown and prestige that Patek Philippe has acquired amongst connoisseurs is not due solely to the perfection of the watches and the resources of knowledge and skill contained in the workshops. This undisputed supremacy also stems from the consistency with which the company has applied its philosophy of excellence ever since it was founded in 1839.
